The goal of this redesign was to transform an outdated, dark board room into a vibrant and inspiring space that reflects the identity of our union. The original room felt dim and disconnected from the values of the organization. This remodel introduced brighter elements, modern finishes, and incorporated our brand colors to create a more welcoming and engaging environment. While the design feels fresh and updated, it still honors the room’s historic significance by thoughtfully preserving key elements that reflect our union’s legacy.
With our union’s growth, the outdated conference room no longer represented our identity. I stepped in as the lead designer to refresh the space, creating a modern design that reflects our values and strength. My focus was on creating visual elements that maximize empty wall areas while maintaining brand consistency.
My contributions included:
- Selecting photo frame styles that best complemented the space
- Curating historical images and applying a color splash treatment
- Designing multiple versions of a word cloud for wall display
- Collaborating with the print shop team to test prints and install final wall graphics
- Measuring the space and creating layout diagrams with accurate dimensions
- Designing visuals that highlighted our Core Values and maintained brand consistency
- Applying wall decals and ensuring proper alignment and level placement
- Choosing colors that matched the overall look and feel of the redesigned space
- Communicating with signage companies and providing precise measurements
- Creating realistic mockups to visually communicate the final concept
